We love celebrities don’t we? There are many people whose names you can never forget. They were those who rose to such greatness that they became immortals in the annals of history. However, they are humans akin to us. What made them so successful that every individual in the world knows them? How can we succeed like they did? What was the secret to their success?
In the quest to discover the right answer, I ventured many conferences and meetings. One of these was Markhor organized by Youth Impact. Here I saw the world from a different perspective entirely; a perspective which brought me to the answer of all things. Away from the hustle and bustle of the cities, away from all those boring conferences where the speakers would drone on and on about incomprehensible subjects, I was exposed to a whole new world. I was ushered in a world wrapped in nature and bursting with calmness.
Through Markhor I learned that the secret to becoming great is to aim high. If you set a high goal in your life and strive to achieve it you will evidently start working harder and harder. Eventually, all of this hard work will come to fruition and you will be on your own path to success. Remember: success isn’t achieved by luck, it is achieved by the sweat of your brow and the usage of your muscle. Believe me, you will start seeing the signs of success way before you come anywhere near your goal.
The conference taught that the road to success is fraught with difficulties and every step is hazardous. However, one must never give up and renounce their aim. They should take a leading role in defining their lives and should never give no matter how tough it becomes.
Leadership is also an important aspect of aiming high. Markhor emphasized a lot on leadership. When you take the lead, you forge your own path because you no longer follow the path someone else created. Following someone means that you are limited to making the choices they made and their choices will inevitably take you away from your path to success. This is because you established your own when you aimed high. The other individual never had the same goal as you, so following him will lead you astray.
Someone once said that if others don’t laugh at your goals then they are not high enough. Going by this principle one should aim high and never give up on that goal. Nothing is impossible if you have the will and the courage to succeed.
